Malta… ein Land, was man eher selten auf den Tourplänen von Bands der Schwarzen Szene sieht. Der Inselstaat im Mittelmeer zwischen Sardinien und Nordafrika war einst für den Sitz des Malteserordens bekannt, heutzutage boomt der Tourismus. Einst Kreuzritter, heute Kreuzfahrten. Doch die engagierten Veranstalter der Insel akzeptieren die geographische Isolation keineswegs und so fand 2018 bereits das “Malta Doom Metal-Fest” statt, und ebenso das sehr erfolgreiche Dark Malta-Festival, das nun schon in die dritte Runde geht. Eingebettet in die mediterrane Landschaft Zentral-Maltas ist es wohl eine der interessantesten Szene-Veranstaltungen Europas und lockt schon längst zahlreiche ausländische Besucher auf die Insel, die auch sonst viel zu bieten hat. Malta… a country rarely seen on our bands tour schedule. Located in the Mediterranean Sea between Sardinia and North Africa the island was known for being the residence of the Order of Malta once. Today, tourism is a growing economic sector. From crusaders to cruises. However, the dedicated promoters of Malta are not willing to accept geographical isolation and so “Malta Doom Metal Fest” was held up in 2018 as well as the first edition of the Dark Malta Festival which will see its third round this year. Embedded in the beautiful mediterranean landscape of Central Malta it is considered one of the most interesting alternative events in Europe and attracts a lot of foreign visitors to visit the island which also has a lot to offer in general. But also the event itself includes not just excellent live music acts but also an entire feel-good-program four your dark soul.
