Tuska Open Air 2019
Juni 28 - Juni 30129,00€

– New additions: Opeth, Behemoth, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Anneke Van Giersbergen, Lost Society and Brymir
– Tuska 2019 headliners: Slayer, Amorphis and The Hellacopters
– Tuska at Suvilahti, Helsinki, Finland 28.-30.6.2019
For fans of good quality metal, we have great news. Tons of great s**t added to the program for the upcoming summer.
Sweden’s prog metal geniuses of Opeth deserve their position as a constant favorite among the metal audiences. Led by Mikael Åkerfeldt, the award-winning band combining prog metal, 70’s sounds, jazz and beautiful melodies with heavy riffs has published 12 studio albums and several live albums and DVD’s – the last one of which, „Garden of the Titans“, came out last year.
Just recently Behemoth had the audience holding their breath at sold out concerts in Helsinki and Tampere. Poland’s best known extreme metal barber and his band published the acclaimed album „I Loved You at Your Darkest“ last year along with quite rough music videos, as was to be expected. After touring heavily this spring, the band will bring their dramatic live show to Suvilahti.
Known for his candid and direct comments, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes bring their mixture of hard rock and groovy punk to Helsinki! Their previously acclaimed albums will be followed by the band’s third album, „End of Suffering“, in May.
Anneke Van Giersbergen melted the hearts of quality-loving heavy metal audiences as the singer of The Gathering already back in the 90’s. The Dutch singer has since had a successful solo career and had collaborations with Devin Townsend, Anathema and of course Amorphis, to name a few. Fans of Anneke’s touching yet strong singing are in for a double treat: besides performing solo, Anneke will also share the stage with Amorphis on their „Queen of Time“ special show.
In just a few years, the wild thrash metal boys of Lost Society have grown and are now young men, but they are far from slowing down – quite the contrary! After reaching the top 3 of the Finnish charts with their album „Braindead“, the quartet from Jyväskylä has gathered more experience by touring with the likes of Exodus and Children of Bodom both in Europe and in the US. Lost Society, known for their wild live performances, will have their first headlining tour this spring – the results of which can be witnessed at Tuska!
Playing shows all the way in Japan, Brymir combines symphonic elements into melodic death metal and consists of true musical masters. Having shared the stage with the likes of Insomnium and Wolfheart, the band will now publish their third album, „Wings of Fire“, in March.
Numerous acts will be added to all festival days. Note! Stam1na show day has moved to Saturday.
25.1.2019- TUSKA 2019: BATTLE BEAST, MARKO HIETALA, LOUDNESS AND MANY OTHERS ADDED
– New additions: Battle Beast, Marko Hietala, Loudness, Dark Sarah, Visions Of Atlantis, Warkings and Goatburner
– Tuska 2019 headliners: Slayer, Amorphis and The Hellacopters
A bunch of melodic metal acts included in the program for the 2019 edition of the finest of Finnish metal festivals!
Battle Beast, formed in 2008, have in ten years fought their way into the hearts of the Finnish audiences and become a household name in Europe – nowadays the beasts are already conquering the land stateside.
Tarot is a name all heavy metal enthusiasts rank high up on their lists, but Nightwish and the annual heavy metal Christmas tours called Raskasta Joulua have made Marko Hietala the whole country’s favourite singing bass player! The Finnish heavy legend will present his own solo material in Suvilahti.
Japan’s very own legendary 80’s heavy metal pioneers of Loudness will again delight us with Akira Takasaki’s phenomenal guitar playing and strange letter combinations. M-Z-A!
Other new acts are Dark Sarah, the Finnish pioneers of cinematic metal, mysterious power metal group Warkings and Austrian symphonic metal greats Visions Of Atlantis.
Angrier side of metal is handled by Finnish death metal power-duo Goatburner, featuring members of Rotten Sound and Ratface.
10.1.2019 – TUSKA 2019: THE HELLACOPTERS TO HEADLINE TUSKA SUNDAY 30.6.

THE HELLACOPTERS IT IS!
Stockholm’s gift to rock n’ roll, The Hellacopters will take Tuska by storm. Formed in the mid 90’s, The Hellacopters lit the rock n’ roll scene on fire and went on to release with 7 amazing albums. When things got overheated in 2008, the band withdrew for an undefined break, that lasted all the way until 2016, when they got back together for a one-off show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album. Needless to say, they got more than sparked and since then things have been going off!
The Hellacopters will be the headliners for Tuska sunday June 30th.

11.9.2018 – TUSKA 2019: DIMMU BORGIR CONFIRMED – EARLY CROW TICKETS NOW ON SALE
– Tuska at Suvilahti 28.-30.6.2019
– Dimmu Borgir back at Tuska
– Tuska 2019 will have the age limit of 18 years
– Special priced Early Crow – three day tickets on sale now
Before the autumn rain washes away the heat and the sweat of this exceptionally hot summer, it’s good to set your sights on the upcoming one. Tuska 2019 will again be held at the Suvilahti event field, with the dates being the usual last weekend of June, 28.-30.6.2019.
The royalty of symphonic black metal, Norwegian Dimmu Borgir ended their hibernation recently and released their long anticipated new album ”Eonian” this year. The on-going tour has gathered nothing but praise and Tuska-Organization is ecstatic to have Dimmu Borgir as the first announcement of the 2019 line-up.
TUSKA ADOPTS 18 YEAR AGE-LIMIT
Tuska has originally been an all-ages festival, but 2019 will be the first edition that will have the age limit of 18 years for all customers. Festival Director Eeka Mäkynen comments: ”This is a big change and it will enable us to provide a much improved festival experience for the over 18 crowd. In reality, we are able to get rid of bar areas, making it more convenient getting around with your drink and enjoy the festival with less restrictions. Tuska has been one of the last fortresses for the bar areas, due to under age festival goers. Unfortunately the number of under-age people buying tickets has decreased every year, and in 2018 there were less than 100 kids. This number does not justify the expenses of having under-aged people at the festival anymore, and when on the other end of the spectrum there are the opportunities this brings to improve the festival experience for everyone else, doing this is a no-brainer. To balance this out, children are welcome to ”TinyTuska”, where all 3-day and Sunday ticket holders can bring a 0-10 year old future citizen of metal to feel the metal festival vibes on Sunday afternoon.“
EARLY CROW TICKETS ON SALE NOW
Special priced “Early Crow” 3-day tickets are now on sale through Tiketti, Ticketmaster, Lippu.fi and Festicket starting at 129 €. Early Crow tickets are on sale until new year or until sold out. The number of tickets is limited, so act fast!
